FIPA- Florida Industrial Pretreatment Association
To be considered for Certification by the FIPA Board of Directors, applicants must meet the following criteria; a grade of
70% or greater achieved on the certification exam and the following minimum qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO TAKE CERTIFICATION EXAMS
C Level (basic):
1.
Must furnish evidence of high school diploma or equivalent.
2.
Must have accumulated 1 year experience in industrial pretreatment, wastewater collection or treatment,
water/reclaimed water distribution or treatment, and/or laboratory sampling or analysis.
3.
Must have successfully completed the Industrial Pretreatment "C" Level course through FIPA or the Florida Water
and Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA).
B Level (intermediate):
1.
Must have "C" Level certification through FIPA or FWPCOA.
2.
Must have accumulated 2 years experience performing daily duties in industrial pretreatment.
3.
Must have successfully completed the Industrial Pretreatment "B" Level course through FIPA or FWPCOA.
A Level (advanced):
1.
Must have "B" Level certification through FIPA or FWPCOA.
2.
Must have accumulated 3 years experience performing daily duties in industrial pretreatment.
3.
One year of IP experience must have been at a supervisory level.
4.
Must have successfully completed the Industrial Pretreatment "A" Level course through FIPA or FWPCOA.
FOG Management:
1.
Must have accumulated 6 months experience in grease trap or oil/water separator device maintenance, grease trap
or oil/water separator device inspection, grease prevention program code enforcement, industrial pretreatment,
wastewater collection or treatment, water/reclaimed water distribution or treatment, and/or laboratory sampling
or analysis.
