Course Description
Fats, Oils & Grease Inspector Training
This course covers the basics of FOG, including the
problems with FOG, sources of FOG, its chemistry and
how it can be separated. The course also covers
sanitary sewer blockages & overflows, facility
inspections and monitoring, reporting, cost recovery,
enforcement, and pretreatment device
repair/rehabilitation and replacement.
Required minimum qualifications for voluntary
certification:
1.
Must have accumulated 6 months of experience
in grease trap or oil/water separator device
management, grease trap or oil/water separator
device inspection, grease prevention program
code enforcement, industrial pretreatment,
wastewater collection or treatment,
water/reclaimed water distribution or treatment,
and/or laboratory sampling or analysis.
2.
Must successfully complete the FOG I
Management course through FIPA.
3.
Must achieve a grade of 70% or greater on the
FOG II course certification exam.
